Escape from Playtime

The Smiling Critters Need a Way Out

Escape from Playtime turns Poppy Playtime into a cooperative extraction-horror game. You and your friends play as Smiling Critters trapped inside the abandoned Playtime Co. factory, following instructions from a mysterious voice that promises a home to toys that prove useful and loyal. The setup puts familiar factory horror around a multiplayer goal: work together long enough to escape.

Proximity Chat Can Give You Away

Survival depends on puzzle-solving, hiding, sneaking, and careful communication. Voice chat uses proximity, so teammates need to hear one another without alerting the rejected experiments roaming the factory. Speaking too loudly can bring those creatures straight to the group. That gives ordinary coordination a built-in risk, especially when separated players need help but cannot safely call across a room.

Poppy Playtime Becomes an Extraction Game

The spinoff enters Steam Early Access on October 21. Its multiplayer structure is a different proposition from the main series' episodic solo horror, even though the toys and industrial setting remain recognizable. The interesting tension comes from deciding when teamwork requires noise and when everyone is safer staying quiet. Early Access will be the first chance to see how that push and pull holds up across repeated runs.
