Hela: Of Mice & Magic

Small Mice, a Witch's Big To-Do List

Hela: Of Mice & Magic puts players in the paws of tiny mouse familiars helping a kind-hearted witch care for the world around her. Forests, meadows, and wetlands inspired by Northern Sweden hold the plants and strange ingredients they need. The adventure looks cozy, but its core idea gives wandering a purpose: what you find outside can become a useful brew back at the witch's cottage.

Brewing Means Doing the Work

Recipes are interactive sequences rather than items selected from a crafting menu. Players combine ingredients and follow hands-on steps that differ from one brew to another. Some creations help woodland creatures and communities; others improve the mice's own abilities. The most important are Remedies, magical tools that change how players move, solve puzzles, and reach places that once looked inaccessible. Returning to a familiar area with a new Remedy can reveal a different route or solution.

Room to Solve Things Together

Every puzzle can be completed alone, but cooperative players can combine tools and approaches to find unexpected answers. That makes brewing part of the shared adventure rather than a pause between excursions. Hela arrives on Xbox Series X|S on December 1, 2026, and joins Xbox Game Pass on day one. For anyone who likes exploration with a gentle tone, the promise is not just a pretty woodland but a world that changes as the mice learn what to make.
