The Little HomePod Gets a Faster Brain

HomePod mini 2 is expected to keep the compact spherical design of the current speaker while replacing the aging internals. A newer processor is the main change, giving the small HomePod enough headroom for Apple's more capable Siri AI rather than limiting the update to music playback.

Siri Is the Reason for the Refresh

The new assistant is meant to handle requests with more context and make Apple's home products work together more naturally. HomePod mini 2 arrives alongside the company's first screened home hub and a new Apple TV, putting the speaker in a broader smart-home system instead of leaving it as a stand-alone voice accessory.

Wi-Fi 7 and Better Room Awareness

Apple's N1 networking chip is expected to add Wi-Fi 7 support, while a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip should improve nearby-device interactions. Improved sound quality is also planned, though the familiar enclosure means Apple will need to find those gains through new components and processing rather than a larger cabinet.

Pink and Green Join the Mesh

New color choices include pink and green, adding some personality without redesigning the woven shell or illuminated touch surface. The second generation is rumored for an October 13 introduction, six years after the original mini established Apple's lower-cost route into HomePod.
