Geralt Has Another Story Ahead

Andrzej Sapkowski is writing a new novel set in The Witcher universe, with Geralt of Rivia once again at its center. The author has outlined the book and is actively working on it, targeting completion in 2027. He has ruled out making this one a character-focused detour about someone such as Yennefer, keeping the series' original monster hunter in the lead.

The Timeline Is Still a Mystery

Sapkowski has not revealed the plot or confirmed where the book sits in Geralt's life. His most recent novel, Crossroads of Ravens, followed an 18-year-old Geralt, which makes another prequel possible without making it certain. The completion target is also not a publication date. A Polish edition could follow after the manuscript is finished, while an English translation would require its own schedule.

More Than One Format Is Possible

Beyond the novel, Sapkowski has said he is considering writing additional short stories, the form that introduced many readers to The Witcher through collections such as The Last Wish. That does not define the book currently underway, but it shows he still sees room for Geralt stories of different sizes. For now, the meaningful news is simple: the next novel has moved beyond an idea and into active writing, even if its title, setting, and release remain open.
