Universal Audio Volt Gen 2

Volt Learns to Protect the Take

Universal Audio's second-generation Volt interfaces add tools that make clean recording easier before audio ever reaches the computer. Auto-Gain can establish a useful input level quickly, while Clip Protection helps prevent an unexpectedly loud performance from ruining a take.

Three Preamp Colors, One Button

Every model records at up to 32-bit/192kHz and carries a front-panel tone control with three preamp characters. Warmth evokes a tube circuit, Focus leans toward solid-state clarity, and Shine draws on British Class-A designs, giving vocals and instruments useful color without opening a plug-in.

Pick the I/O That Fits the Desk

The line starts with the compact 2-in, 2-out Volt 1 Gen 2 for a microphone, guitar, speakers, and headphones. Volt 2 and Volt 4 add Smart Displays with immediate input and gain-reduction feedback, while Volt 4 also includes MIDI I/O and ADAT expansion for larger sessions.

Ready for Nearly Any Recording Device

The interfaces work with major DAWs across Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. With prices ranging from EUR139 for Volt 1 Gen 2 to EUR279 for Volt 4 Gen 2, the family keeps the original Volt idea intact while adding better metering, safer setup, and more room to shape sound at the input.
