2026-27 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey

The Young Guns Chase Starts Here

Upper Deck Series 1 opens the 2026-27 hockey card season with the set collectors use to meet a new class of NHL rookies. The 250-card checklist contains 198 veterans, two veteran checklists, 49 Young Guns, and a Young Guns checklist, giving the release its familiar mix of established names and first flagship rookie cards.

Six Rookies in a Hobby Box

Young Guns fall at an average of one in every other hobby pack, which works out to six across a 12-pack box. Because this early release does not include 2026 draft picks, the rookie group centers on players who arrived late in the 2025-26 season rather than the newest draftees.

A Deep Parallel Ladder

The chase continues well past the standard rookie cards. Young Guns can appear as Deluxe cards numbered to 250, UD Exclusives to 100, Outburst Red to 25, High Gloss to 10, and one-of-one Outburst Gold versions, with Silver Outburst and Clear Cut cards adding more routes through the checklist.

Flagship Hockey in Its Purest Form

Each hobby pack carries 12 cards, so the box still leaves room for veterans and inserts alongside the rookie hunt. For collectors who treat Young Guns as the starting point of every NHL season, Series 1 is the first major checkpoint.
