The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into GM's next infotainment system, a welcome change after the company planned to remove both from future vehicles. Phone apps will appear in a card within the screen rather than taking over the whole display. That leaves room for the truck's own trip information, trailer status, and a persistent climate-control strip.

A Screen Designed Around the Drive

The new interface pairs higher-contrast display hardware with a reworked home screen informed by customer feedback. When Super Cruise is active, a new 3D view depicts the traffic around the pickup, giving the driver a clearer picture of what the hands-free system is tracking. Built-in Google apps remain available without a connected phone, so navigation and other native functions do not disappear when CarPlay or Android Auto is in use.

Familiar Controls, New Software

Over-the-air updates will let GM revise the system after the truck reaches customers. The main idea is straightforward: Silverado owners can use the phone tools they already know while keeping vehicle-specific information visible at the same time. For a pickup that may spend one trip towing and the next commuting, that balance could matter more than a wholesale dashboard redesign.
