Crawl 2

The Alligators Get Another Movie

Paramount is bringing Crawl back for a second round of killer-alligator horror. The 2019 original turned a simple creature threat into a box-office success, and director Alexandre Aja is returning for the follow-up. Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd will star, giving this still-untitled sequel a new pair of faces in front of the danger.

Aja Returns Behind the Camera

Aja is directing and producing alongside Craig Flores and Sam Raimi. The script credits Jason Harry Pagan and Andrew Deutschman with Aja and Gregory Levasseur. Their return links the sequel to the first film, while Gooding and Rudd give the creature threat a new pair of leads. Crawl's blunt survival premise leaves plenty of room for another tense encounter without repeating the same characters.

Another Summer for Creature Horror

The new film is set for July 16, 2027. For fans of lean, tense creature features, Aja's return and the Gooding-Rudd pairing are the early reasons to pay attention. The real test is whether a second alligator attack can feel as immediate and frightening as the first. The movie remains untitled, so the name of this next chapter is still to come.
