Ted: The Animated Series

Ted and John Grow Older, Not Wiser

Ted: The Animated Series jumps 12 years beyond the second movie and finds John Bennett and his thunder buddy living next door to each other. Both now have families and dead-end jobs, which gives their old friendship a new suburban setting without asking either character to become especially mature.

Animation Opens a Bigger Toy Box

Moving the foul-mouthed bear into animation frees the series from the physical limits and expense of placing a digital character in live-action scenes. It can push Ted's jokes and misadventures further while preserving the central contrast between an ordinary Massachusetts life and a teddy bear who behaves like the worst possible neighbor.

The Original Pair Reunites

Seth MacFarlane returns as Ted, and Mark Wahlberg is back as the adult John. Their reunion distinguishes this sequel series from the live-action Peacock prequel, which followed the pair during John's teenage years with a younger actor in the role.

Eight Episodes Before More in 2027

The first eight animated episodes premiere on Peacock on December 17. More are planned for 2027, so this opening run is the start of an ongoing continuation rather than a one-off trip back to the movie timeline.
