Deicidium Returned

Faith Has Become an Industry

Deicidium: Returned imagines a future rebuilt after war, where corporations and engineered religions have fused into a new form of power. Worship drives the economy, salvation is sold like a product, and governments sit beneath a system built to turn belief into control.

The Old Gods Choose Ordinary Bodies

That stable arrangement breaks when ancient gods of fire, wind, jaguars, love, war, and mischief return through everyday people. Their hosts become living deities, not familiar figures descending from heaven, and the ruling faiths treat every manifestation as a threat to be contained.

Twelve Orphans Were Raised for This

The world's great faiths prepared for the return by selecting 12 orphans, giving them extraordinary gifts, and training them without love, reward, or remorse. They are weapons built to kill gods, but their mission opens a larger question about whether humanity's future belongs to institutions above it or power arising from within ordinary lives.

A Global Myth Drawn in Black and White

Writer Ram V joins artists Evan Cagle and Anand Radhakrishnan, designer Tom Muller, letterer Aditya Bidikar, and additional collaborators for the 96-page first volume. The Image Comics graphic novel begins an ambitious global epic where manufactured faith collides with older, more unruly forms of myth.
