A Blacked-Out Pair of Low-Torque Phantoms

The Scotty Cameron Phantom OC Spec III gives the brand's low-torque mallets a full black PVD treatment, running from grip to sole. This limited release comes in two shapes: the compact Phantom 5 OC wingback and the larger, ultra-stable Phantom 11R OC mallet.

Built to Stay Square

Both models place a straight shaft close to the head's center of gravity, producing near-zero toe flow and helping the face remain square to the stroke path. The heads are 15 grams heavier than their standard counterparts for added stability. A one-degree shaft lean and slight onset preserve a clean view of the face at address without creating the unusual setup some low-torque designs demand.

Different Faces, the Same Visual Plan

The Phantom 5 OC uses a Studio Carbon Steel face insert, while the Phantom 11R OC keeps a milled 303 stainless steel face. Both receive Scotty Cameron's chain-link milling pattern and three bright alignment lines that stand out against the black finish. A black shaft and 11-inch midsize Matador grip complete the coordinated build.

Two Shapes at a Premium

The Phantom 5 OC is offered right-handed, while the 11R OC comes in right- and left-handed versions; each is available at 33, 34 or 35 inches. At $800, Spec III is a collector-minded package, but its alignment and low-torque choices are meant to do real work on the green.
