Universal Audio Volt Max

Compression Moves Into the Interface

Universal Audio's Volt Max models build analog-inspired dynamics directly into an affordable recording interface. Six modes draw on the behavior of familiar 1176, LA-2A, and VCA-style compressors, letting a vocal, bass, or instrument arrive with controlled peaks and character before software enters the chain.

Smarter Levels, Clearer Feedback

Auto-Gain quickly sets the input structure and Clip Protection guards against overloads during a take. Smart Displays show both input and gain reduction at a glance, while 32-bit/192kHz recording gives every model ample resolution for modern home and project studios.

Preamp Flavor Is Still on the Front Panel

A tone button offers Warmth for tube-like color, Focus for a solid-state character, and Shine for a British Class-A-inspired lift. That combination of preamp tone and hardware compression makes Volt Max especially appealing to musicians who want a polished monitoring sound with less time spent building plug-in chains.

Three Sizes for Growing Studios

The range includes Volt 2 Max at EUR299, Volt 4 Max at EUR399, and Volt 4P Max at EUR499. The larger models add MIDI I/O and ADAT, allowing external multichannel preamps and electronic instruments to join the setup. All three work across Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone with major DAWs.
