Schmidt and Jenko Finally Skip a Grade

24 Jump Street brings Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum back as the mismatched undercover partners Schmidt and Jenko, more than a decade after their last big-screen case. Ice Cube also returns as Captain Dickson, restoring the trio whose frustration with one another powers much of the series' comedy.

Twenty-Three Never Made It Out Alive

The missing number is part of the joke. An earlier 23 Jump Street project was developed but never produced, so this sequel jumps ahead as a playful salute to the abandoned movie. That choice fits a franchise already happy to mock sequel logic, studio planning, and its own increasingly unlikely undercover assignments.

A Familiar Writer Takes the Chair

Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote 22 Jump Street, will direct this installment from a screenplay written with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller remain involved as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz, Tatum, and Hill, keeping the previous films' creative core close even with someone new behind the camera.

The Case Is Still Under Wraps

No school, workplace, or criminal operation has been revealed for Schmidt and Jenko's return. That leaves the central comic setup open, but the confirmed cast and creative team give the sequel a stronger connection to the first two movies than a simple franchise revival. It reaches theaters December 10, 2027.
