Two Robins Before They Became Partners

Dynamic Duo follows the early adventures of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, two boys who would each take on the Robin identity. Rather than treating them as interchangeable sidekicks, the film can build its story around their different paths toward Batman's orbit.

CG, Stop Motion and Puppets in the Same Gotham

The movie is expected to combine computer animation, stop-motion work and puppetry. That hybrid approach gives director Arthur Mintz a chance to make the characters feel handmade and physical while still opening Gotham up to movement that would be difficult in one technique alone.

A Different Corner of the DC Screen Universe

The Batman director Matt Reeves and DC Studios co-head James Gunn are both producing. Their involvement connects two current branches of DC filmmaking, but the unusual medium and younger leads give Dynamic Duo room to establish its own visual identity rather than imitate a live-action Batman adventure.

The Robins Take the Lead

Batman stories often define Dick and Jason by the mentor standing beside them. Dynamic Duo reverses that emphasis, putting their friendship, rivalry and early heroics at the center of the frame. The later date gives the animation team more time to make its mixed-media method feel cohesive.
