Heart Eyes 2

Valentine's Day Has Another Threat

The Heart Eyes Killer is coming back to theaters in Heart Eyes 2. The masked murderer who strikes around Valentine's Day gives the sequel a holiday hook without needing to reveal its next victims or setting yet. Director Josh Ruben is attached to the follow-up, returning to the premise that made the first film a distinctly February slasher.

A New Studio Pairing

Paramount Pictures is co-producing and co-financing the sequel with Spyglass Media Group and will handle worldwide distribution. Sony Pictures distributed the first Heart Eyes, which earned $33 million globally against an $18 million budget in 2025. That performance gave the killer another outing, while the new distribution arrangement marks a change behind the scenes. The central figure remains the same, even as the business around the series shifts.

The Killer Moves Up a Week

Heart Eyes 2 is now set for February 4, 2028, one week earlier than its previous February 11 date. That still places it squarely in the run-up to Valentine's Day, where the film's title and villain have their strongest pull. The question for Ruben is how to make the Heart Eyes Killer unpredictable on a second holiday-season hunt.
